Pa-Kua can be practiced by men and women regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, or belief. It can be started from the age of 6 with no upper age limit. Classes are taught in mixed-gender groups ; men train with men and women with women.

No prior physical condition or experience in oriental arts is required.

Knowledge originates from two periods: the ancient mythological period based on Emperor Fu-Xi, and the contemporary period, which is a combination of the traditional and the modern.
